Toronto-based rapper Jugger sees himself as a storyteller and a world builder. With influences ranging from Robert Johnson to Michael Jackson, and a deep interest in the genres of sci-fi and horror, Jugger embodies a range of personas. His music shifts from autobiographical to fantastic, combining elements of different styles to create his experimental, undefinable sound. Jugger’s debut album Puppet Master was released in 2023 by Red Bull Records/Wonderchild, building on a track record of successful singles and two EPs over the previous five years.

To coincide with the release of Puppet Master, Studio Loutsis collaborated with Jugger on his visual identity, including a signature wordmark and website development and design. We crafted a bespoke, sculptural wordmark that encapsulates many of Jugger’s influences and the diverse dystopian worlds he creates. The arched shape and the jagged edges evoke ‘80s metal bands and horror movie titles, while the textured metallic surface brings to mind futurism and science fiction. The merging of these varied associations becomes a visual representation of Jugger’s multifaceted music.
